Changes in Musical Styles Related to Changes in Human Society Introduction While musics origins are lost in the mists of time, the origins of many of the popular music styles that have evolved over the centuries are more easily traced. To this end, this paper provides a review of the relevant peer-reviewed and scholarly literature concerning the manner in which music styles were affected by the introduction of the electronic age in general and the introduction of the electric guitar in particular, and how the electric guitar transformed the music styles of the 1960s and 1970s. A summary of the research and important findings concerning these issues are provided in the conclusion. Review and Discussion A wide range of events can influence the types of music that are popular during a given period in human history. For instance, Jarque (2012) notes that, Social and economic factors can influence the type of music by defining who plays it and who pays for it. Baroque music results from professional players playing to an educated elite. Folk music is non-professionals playing to their peers (para. 3). Likewise, innovations in technology can have a major effect on the development of new musical styles and instruments, some of which were existing instruments such as violins and guitars that were electrified for the first time. In the world of education, a plague has struck many students. Instructors everywhere try to contain this epidemic call plagiarism. This struggle of writing has touchdown in many campus across the country. This is the result of students feeling the pressure of writing more than in the past. The problem with writing is not because students don’t know how, but rather feeling the pressure to meet socially place standards without plagiarizing. Many students plagiarize due to the burden of succeeding. These strains can come from parents, wanting great achievements from their children. Coupled with the awareness of proper writing skills for future job opportunities. Equally, looking apart amongst peers can cause students to plagiarize. Serenity In Joss Hoedown’s â€Å"Serenity’ and â€Å"Firefly’, the human race used and polluted the Earth until it could no longer support life. In order to survive, humanity had to leave Earth- That-Was and find a new home. Taking place 500 years in the future, the Chinese and Americans were the main cultures that have survived centuries of time and light- years of travel, they have blended into one culture where speaking English can suddenly give way to speaking Chinese as if they were one language.
